Trip Details: A 5 day intensive course spread out over two weekends and taught by our AMGA certified guides. We will cover multi pitch rope systems, anchor and rope management, technical descents, and moving through 3rd and 4th class terrain. This course is designed for the outdoor climber looking to expand their knowledge on longer climbs in the mountains. You should be comfortable climbing 5.8 on rock before signing up for this class.

Come learn the fundamental skills of moving through alpine rock terrain! Feel the flow of getting high off the ground on an alpine multi pitch climb in the beautiful Sierra Nevada. This is a 5 day intensive course spread out over two weekends and taught by our AMGA certified guides. We will cover multi pitch rope systems, anchor and rope management, technical descents, and moving through 3rd and 4th class terrain. This course is designed for the outdoor climber looking to expand their knowledge on longer climbs in the mountains. You should be comfortable climbing 5.8 on rock before signing up for this class.

    • July 1-2nd & 14-16th
    • Aug 5-6th & 18-20th
 

Weekend #1:

Day 1: Focused on the fundamentals of multi pitch climbing systems, placing/ cleaning gear, anchors, rope management and rappelling Location: Pine Creek (PSOM slab), or Rock Creek (Gong Show Wall) Day 2: Crystal Crag - North Arete/ South Ridge, intro to alpine rock climbing/ multi pitch, moving in 3rd and 4th class terrain, ridge climbing, snow skills if done in early season  

Weekend #2:

Putting the skills learned the previous weekend into practice on a longer classic alpine rock climb Day 1: Approach, make basecamp Day 2: Climb & descend either back to camp or all the way out Potential Day 3: hike out
